Maroon Clown

I have a maroon clown I adopted from a friend that was ditching her tank. He's a quirky thing. He has adopted my Duncan coral as a home and is very protective of it. Plus he likes to sift sand in his mouth and move it around with his tail. Is this a normal behavior of these clowns?

I've had one for 7-8 yrs and act the same way. He is always moving sand and hosts any and everything. Right now he likes my yellow polyp colony.

He's between 7-8 also. He's by far the most entertaining fish in the tank. Very dominant and a food hog.
