Ah... Mine is alone, so any food that goes in is specifically for him.
He does seem like he's learned that when I approach his tank that it means food is coming. Pinchers go up and antenna start moving around. Either that or he's just trying to strike a threatening pose to warn me off. Lol

I feed mine 2 shrimp pellets in the morning and 3 Hikari Crab food pellets in the evening. Once or twice a week I put in a piece of blanched kale (which it usually doesn't eat much if) and he gets half a shelled pea once a week. Over feeding?

Mine eats shrimp pellets I feed him once a day when I wake up. In my opinion you might be feeding yours a bit much. But as long as you take out any uneaten food after a half hour he will be fine.

If he's eating what you put in I would continue it. That's just my opinion though. He should slow down as he gets older.
