moving to a new house

What is the safest way to move an aquarium? I have a 20 gal with 8 fish in it. I was thinking of just sucking the water down to about 30% and carrying the aquarium to the car, being driven to the other house, and adding water once we got there. The move is no longer then 30 minutes away. Any thoughts?
