I was kinda thinkinthat it might. I came home and buffered the tank and then tested it again about 4 hours later. PH was at 8.2-8.4. With my own kit I will be able to keep a better eye on it now. Thanks

Ok..here's the list: Yellow Tang, Royal Gramma, a blenny(forgot its name), cleaner shrimp, horseshoe crab and a porcelain crab. Tomorrow I am goin back to pick up a monster of a serpent star. Biggest one I have ever seen. Pics soon.

Ok, I had my water tested tues. Lfs said all good except ph was low in both tanks. I bought an API test kit, went home and buffered the tanks. That night checked the ph, all was good. I did a pwc on the 60and then last night I ran the full gamut of tests on both tanks. All good except now the nitrates were reading 160 on both tanks. Seems odd that my nitrates were fine the day before and then maxed out the next day? Anyone have any ideas?

That threw the reading off, I learned that awhile back, I used a plastic cup and got a read of 120, my LFS also showed 120 but told me the cup was causing it. I stuck the glass tube directly in the tank and took water in a ziplock bag to the LFS, both test came back less then 5ppm.

Ok here are a couple pics. The Blenny is a Tribal Blenny.

I know for a fact your nitrates were off now, that skunk cleaner would be dead.

Yeah, I took a fresh sample down to my lfs and everything was fine. I'm leanin toward your explanation. I know now...thanks again.

Ok...some more livestock acclimating as I write this....massive serpent star, orange linkia star, derasa clam, new clown to replace the one that died, and 4 coral frags. Pics as soon as a I can.

Yeah the serpents are fun. I really only bought this one because he is huge....his body is at least as big around as a silver dollar, if not a little bigger. His legs are at least 6-8in long.
I might be goin overboard....lol.
