Native fish collecting?

So I just heard of this thanks to this thread I just looked through. It sounds awesome. Besides getting a collecting license, what would the steps be in native fish collecting? Also would there be anywhere in NJ you could this? Thanks.

Check with local forums I know there are several different groups from my area that go out once or twice a year.
