need good book/info

We need to buy a basic book on keeping an aquarium with plants healthy, we got a tank with everything and some fish for free it has live plants had some tetras but they are dying every day also have an angel fish and those catfish I don't know how to spell them, anyway I need a good test kit any brands that are good? Thanks

Also I got my API FW master test kit from amazon for 17$-with free shipping. The stores around here sell it for 30 bucks or more!

I finally bought the Complete IDIOT'S guide to Freshwater Aquariums by Mike Wickham. Got it used on Amazon. Answers question and easily understand, covers some plants, some fish, just a nice beginners book. Nice hints in there too. New $16.95, used in great shape on Amazon - $5.00. A great testing kit is the API liquid testing kit. Also available on Amazon, your LFS should carry both. Good luck!!
