I was wondering what are the laws on catching different things in saltwater and putting them in my tank

That's a very good question I'm interested to know myself

As long as you don't get caught, you're alright! No I'm JK, you should see what the laws are for the area that you were looking at.

Lol... Im in Florida. Do you know the rules there? I seen somewhere if u have a fishing license you are fine is that true?

I'm actually not sure. I'm in Miami, and I get small fish and rocks from my backyard. I've never gone to the Atlantic and gotten anything.

I was thinking about the keys cuz I'm going there soon. I've heard there is cool stuff in the Sebastian inlet. I just wanna know if it's ok if I do find something cool I can keep it?

I used to get a [moderator edit] of anemones and crabs and snails and shrimp and god knows what eelse for my florida coastal tank out of ponce inlet just south of daytona when I lived there. The only advice i have is you will be really upset when some free fish or invert from the ocean kills a very nice expensive item from the lfs. This can be from aggression or disease so watch yourself or just only use things from the ocean.

So you can't get in trouble if caught for some reason? And I was only gonna get stuff from the sebastian inlet and the keys

I love sebastian one of my favorite surf spots a little crouded on any kind of a decent wave thouugh. Well as far as your moral dilemma well I've never gotten in trouble but one thing I've learned is NEVER take the [moderator edit]in rocks or coral

Here are the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissions (FWC) rules and regulations for collecting wildlife.

The rules aren't really that strict. Just make sure that u follow them they are there to ensure that future generations can enjoy the wild life as much as we do.

Oh and if your planning on going to the keys make sure ur not in any protected areas. Like the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. As it's illegal to take ANYTHING from a marine protected area.
Theres a whole other website for that part. Lol
