If you can afford the bigger tank, go for it. Bigger tanks cost more money of course, but they do offer a little room for mistakes. I started with a 125 gallon. It takes a little more time for the water parameters to change on you and they will change slowly. On the other hand, whatever you would need to do to bring the water back to "spec" would be more also.
Bigger tanks I think are a little easier to maintain. I am sure there will be more replies to this so don't just take my word for it. Sit back and wait for the rest of the replies.
