Nerite Snail

Could you buy a nerite snail out of a saltwater tank and put it in your freshwater tank ? What precautions would you need to take if so ?

I wouldn't. Some species may be able to survive a slow adaptation but surviving and thriving are two different things. The species sold for saltwater naturally live in the ocean while species sold for fresh water live in the brackish-to-fresh zones where rivers and streams flow into the ocean and are much better suited to life in a freshwater aquarium.

I'm having trouble finding decenty priced nerites. Everywhere I see is $6.99+ besides petsmart/petco but they never have them in stock.

Pea boys paradise. They have nerites for .75 cents. They used to be free!
