Hey uys up a ten gallon tank cleaned it And added live sand and salt here it is

Here are my stock ideas:

Clown Goby

Orange stripe prawn goby

And some other fish?? Ideas??

And a CUC. Was thinking Astraeas and turbos maybe a hermit or two what do you think

Go for it man. Personally I like having more hermits than snails, I think they do a better job controlling hair algae and other unwanted pests. What are you thinking in terms of filtration and lighting?

Livestock sounds fine. Gobies are great choices for nano tanks. Thinking about adding corals?

I love catalina gobies. The red and blue is gorgeous and they stay small. Turbos will look huge in a 10G, go for it if u want them!! Have fun!

Just remember Catalina gobies require a specialized tank. They are from cold waters and require 60-70 degrees.

+1 if keeping a Catalina your gonna want colder water temps. There is a company that specializes in cold water aquariums I think it's called Micro Reefs. They all sorts of equipment that produce less heat.

Example;

I upgraded the pump in my IM Nuvo 8 gallon because I have having heat issues even with the top and heater off. Now with the new pump I have more flow and had to plug in my heater.

Worth a shot if your set on that Catalina

They are pretty though.

Picked up a piece of sculpted tufa rock today the LR at Pet Co is insanely over priced 20$ for 1 of their rocks is it that bad at anyone else's petco?

Live rock isn't cheap. It's $6-10 per pound usually. Thats why some people do 50/50 of live/base rock when they start a tank. I have one huge rock that cost $74 for one rock!! I was a little surprised at that one, but I was new to the hobby at that time and didn't realized how expensive LR was.

I can't speak for petco...but my LFS sells LR anywhere from 3.99/lb for base rock to 8.99/lb for "premium" rock. I've always come out better getting fresh LR shipped to me and curing it myself, better variety of life on the rock and usually end up paying less in the long run. At least that was my experience many years ago.

I used to do the same thing. A 44lb box of live rock used to cost me about $75-$100 shipped to my door. I always got much better rock doing it that way than picking out rock from a shop. The only exception was if I went to a LFS on the day they got a shipment of rock in. You can choose the best pieces from their new batch that way.
