New 29 gal tank

Just started my first SW tank this weekend. 29 gal tank, 43 lbs live rock, 40 lbs of live sand. I dropped in one medium size shrimp. Is one enough for a tank my size?

I would go with a couple more.

Should be enough. Actually the live rock and live sand should be enough to cycle your tank without the shrimp. You will have die off from the live rock and live sand already has benificial bacteria in it.

FW tanks have to have a starter but sw is just fine with live rock.

I just used 1 shrimp when I cycled my 29er and worked beautifully

You are off to a good start. One shrimp should be plenty. In fact, with 43lbs LR you may not need the shrimp at all, although it may help jump start the cycle. Good luck. Now come the hard part...hurry up and wait.
