Hey!
My names Lea, and I’m currently in a bit of a stink here.
So my brother had a tropical fish tank last year. All the fish died off eventually with the exception of his gourami that he’s kind of neglected, and that is now in my care.
He’s a golden three spot gourami, and I’m getting him a 29 gallon this weekend.
However I read they thrive best with tank mates.
So I was thinking I could add some small species of tetra’s?
How many tetras could I add in this 29 gallon with my one gourami?
And yes he has a heater and filter and I tried my best to cycle but I’m also slightly confused on it so I’m not sure I did it right. He does have lots of fake plants, I plan on adding live ones after corona. Any tips would be great.
Let me know if any other small fish species would be good ❤️
Thank you!

I already answered your tetra question on your other thread but I'll answer your plant question here.
Stick to the plants labeled beginner. They are most easy to take care and don't need specific substrate, lighting or
C02
Some of these include: anubias anacharis water wisteria marmino moss balls or java ferns
Most of these can be left floating, planted in the substrate or attached to driftwood/other decorations.

Good luck!
