So, I'm not really finding specific details so I'm asking for your help.

How do you make sure your plants stay planted and how do you help them take root ?

I'm using Flourite substrate. I realize now that a sand bed under the Flourite may have been more ideal, but I see slot who seem to just use the Flourite.

So how do YOU do it? Thank you!!

A sand bed over fluorite is how I've done it.. worked well

Give your plants time. They will grab as long as they are growing healthy.

Thanks brookster. Hadn't thought of putting it on top.

Oh I checked at pet smart last night and saw the plant paks you told me about. Some good looking plants! I'll look at those once I get the ones you send me settled. ;)

If I want to help my plants take root I usually cut the roots just a little bit to help rejuvenate them.

When planting a stem i will leave one set of lower leaves on and cut the rest off the part of the stem thats going into the substrate. This acts kind of like an anchor.

The leaves will rot away under the substrate given time

Ok. That makes sense.

I'm sitting here thinking about that empty 20 long I have in the closet.
It is calling my name for an aquascape. ;)
