I tested nitrite yesterday and it was .50 and now it's 0 . I didn't water changes so I don't know what happened. It's 10 gallons and not fully cycled. What could've happened?
Nitrite is naturally converted to nitrate by the beneficial bacteria growing in your tank. I bet you'll have a nitrate reading if you test. And if it and ammonia both stay at zero you'll be fully cycled so keep an eye on that result!
It's been set up for 2 months. Ammonia is .25 to 0 ppm and nitrite is 0ppm. I did add established media so i guess that's why. There was 10ppm of nitrate a couple weeks ago but strangely its 0 now.
