No cycle?

I started my first 12g nano tank about a week ago and I put in live rock 2 days ago and I checked my water quality and nitrates nitrites and ammonia were at 0 with ph of 8. Shouldn't I have some sort of cycle?

You need to present an ammonia source to cycle the tank. I prefer the cocktail shrimp method.

If you add in a fish, the nitrates will skyrocket and kill it because you have no bacteria to eat its waste
