normal for red empress

i noticed in the past couple weeks one of my red empress is getting these black patches on it.

is this suppose to happen or is this some kind of parasite?

my smaller red empress is silver but seems to be getting the small spots on it

My red empresses had distinct black bars and spots like that. The females stayed that way. The male colored up and the black went away.

cool thanks. cuz it seems like my ruby red peacock is getting the same spots on one side tho
