I am just starting to setup my 75gal Oceanic Reef-ready tank. The overflow is rated at 800gph and I have a few questions in regards to the two Mag pumps below.

Mag 7
which is rated for 480gph @ 4 feet

Mag 9.5
which is rated for 800gph @ 4 feet.

Which Mag pump should I purchase?
Is the Mag 7 pumping enough gph to be sufficient?
Is the Mag 9.5 to close to the overflow ratings for my tank?
Also will the Mag 9.5 create a loud waterfall sound with that much water pumping?

I am also going to have 2 Maxi-Jet 1200 in addition to the Mag pump.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as this is my first tank. :D :D

I would go with the Mag 9.5 More flow is best. After you plumb everything you proablby will be a bit lower than 800GPH anyway. When in doubt put a ball valve above the pump and you can then throttle the pump somewhat if need be. If the overflow is loud then install a Stockman Standpipe and that will make the overflows virtually silent.
