I'd say no to any tang if its the same as my tank 36x18x24. I wouldnt get a copperband butterfly either. So far I have a lawnmower blenny, and 2 black false percula clownfish. I'm going to get a Royal Gramma Basslet, and a fairy wrasse. That will probably be the end of my stock list. I was planning on getting a flame angel, but since im planning corals down the road I decided against it.

I would also pass on the tang. The copperband is doable but while require some daily time and devotion on your part otherwise pick a different fish.

how do you think a raccon butterfly would do instead of a copperband

A raccoon is borderline for a 65. Keep in mind if you get one you will not be able to have inverts or corals.
