I just put an olive nerite snail in with my betta and am researching how to properly feed them and take care of them. Does anyone have any advice on how to take care of said snail and not harm my betta?

I have several nerites and don't do anything special for them. They tool around cleaning the glass, plants, and DW and get plenty to eat on thier own.

My tank doesn't have any visible algae. Do I need to get algae wafers, or is this a recipe for disaster for my odd betta? My research has said fresh vegetables for the snail. Is this okay to do?

Let me ask you this... do you have to clean the glass in that tank? If the answer is yes then you have algae. If you feel you don't have algae on your glass then for one little nerite I would maybe try putting in 1/4 of an algae tablet once a week. I'd drop it in when you turn the lights off and remove any left in the morning so it doesn't spoil in the tank.

Honestly, I got him because my betta recently started hiding half his food, when before he was eating it like a pig. I will get some algae wafers here soon. This is the fastest snail I have ever seen. He is really fun to watch.
