They had plants for sale, buy 3 get 1 free, and they had 2 healthy looking amazon swords, and 1 healthy java fern, that's all I did research on and they didn't have another plant that I knew about, so I ended up having to gamble and took an umbrella plant...argh :(

So I read that it will rot and die underwater, but do you think it would be okay if I put it in my other tank that has about 3 inches of water?

thanks in advanced :)

I really don't want to drive all the way down to petco to exchange a free plant haha...

It'll be fine in dirt. It's a peace lilly. If I'm not mistaken, it's a common funeral plant. If you don't want to return it, you can easily plant it. They really don't require much maintenance.

If it's only 3" of water I would try it. Just make sure no leaves are under water
