PC disappointment

bawla47, I totally agree with you, about the spectrum, but my point was that if the water is looking yellow, it would be just as much from the 12K as it would form the actinic. Since the actinic is less intense, if you change to 50/50 bulbs it may not remove that yellow tint and may actually get worse. With that said, I think we all have different color perceptions and preferences. I love my tank a little blu, like clean water so I run 1 250w MH at 20K, 4x65w 10k PC, 2x65w A03 PC and 1x96w Ao3. It works out really well for me, blue in the mronign and evening and nice and bright durin g the day. The other thing I might suggest is finding a LFS that will let you borrow one of their used bulb, not too old, and test it out before you buy.
 
has anybody ever tried actinic white bulbs? are they as good as the blues for corals and are they more color enhancing?
