So atm my ph level is sitting about 7.8 which is a bit high as im looking to get a pair of blue rams!

So the question is whats the best way to lower ph without adding chemicals?

I have 2 almond leaves in the tank as ive heard they help to lower ph levels but nothing changing!!

Skip the almond leaves and leave the pH where it is. It will be fine for GBRs where it's at. You run into more trouble trying to change the pH rather than leaving it where it's at. Fish do better with stability when it comes down to pH.

Second Mebbid's reply. Stability is king.

I believe pH naturally goes down over time in most tanks anyway as a result of nitric acid, driftwood tannins, etc
