Hey i cut my photo period down from 10 hours to 8.5 or 9...algae was growing way to fast and tank was looking cloudy. Cant get some otos soon enough

Yeah run my lights for 9 hrs 0700-1300 break 1500--1800 but I still get algae. I'm still looking for the right balance. Maybe it would help if I stick to a schedule.

I run one fixture 6 hours and the other 5 hours with a 3 hour overlap. Combined PAR is over 100 in some parts of the tank during those 3 hours. I enjoyed about 3-4 blissful months of an algae free tank recently but that has ended. Small bouts of BBA and a type of algae I've not seen in my tank before. Very thin short 3-4 mm green hairs on the DW and star repens and AR mini. Ugh.

I know a thing or two about that wicked green algae... Good luck with that one! Upping CO2 and less iron helped. If you figure out how to kill what already grew let me know.

I need to find my old Finnex boxes. For some reason I'm thinking the Ray2 logo is "RAY2" and not "RAY". Regardless, looks like a sweet combo.

That's cool you got your goodies, but I'd definitely recheck the order because if you ordered two planted+, that's what you should get. The second light there is the FugeRay. I believe it's their lowest light output fixture and is also a cheaper unit than the planted+ and ray 2.
