Hello! I'm reading up on plants to add to my aquarium and I'm at a loss. I'm not sure which ones would be ideal for my tank so I was hoping for some suggestions.

I have a 46g bowfront FOWLR tank. I have a regular light so no coral.

I'd be happy to have any input.

Thanks!

Plants and SW tanks don't go together. Even if it did, I believe that if your lights won't support coral, it definitely won't support plants.

Not to many plants will go in a SW tank. Mangroves and some macro algea (not really considered a plant) is just about it.

What about those plants like calurpa, mermaids wine glass, halameda, etc.. Those plants are all SW..

But as austinsdad already said.. your lights won't support any of them. Coral and plants use photosynthesis.. no lights.. no photosynthesis.. no plants.

If you think about it, only the mangrove has anything resembling a root. Guess whay that's why most call it a plant.

Macroalgae is like tumbleweed to me. No root.
