I would absolutely have 1 or 2 , This will help suspend the gunks in the tank as well as oxygnating the water ...
And taking food to filter feeding creatures ... I have 2 in my 10 and have 2 in my biocube 8 that I am running .. I have 7 x/hr turn over in my 10 gallon and 3 x/hr turn over in my 8 BC ..

I would also recommend at least 2, you can get 2 smaller ones, but having both allows you to get some chaotic current going, which has been found to be beneficial to all marine life. I think the general rule is to have 10-20x turnover rate for a good reef. Someone may want to spot me on that number though.

I have a 14 gallon and have two. They dont have to be huge but having two gives you alot of options on where you want the flow.
