Ok so my ammonia was kinda high so I went ahead and did a 20% wc and dosed it with prime but I will still get a high ammonia reading because it is still there, just detoxified...correct? How often should I do a wc until it goes down?

I may be wrong, but I believe that Prime binds the ammonia so that it becomes harmless. As a result, you get a false positive ammonia reading.

Also, the detoxified ammonia will still be processed by the filter just as if it was normal ammonia.
The test will show up the total ammonia present, both untreated and detoxified so whilst any ammonia reading is present you will need to dose with Prime daily until the filter bacteria colony has expanded to cope with the loading.
