Proper Snail Handling

yeah I get that, but I handle my stock with care so I don't want to just "grab and pluck" unless that's the proper way.
 
I wouldn't rip it off the glass or else the shell may be all you get.. i use a pair of 24" planting tongs to gently remove my snails by gently wiggling them.until.you feel their suction let go.. the more detail put forth in original question will surely yield greater detail in the amswers;)

Seems pretty detailed to me.

Had I asked "what do I grab onto when removing a snail?"

Then your answer would've made more sense.

Reading and not comprehending leads to vague answers with no solutions.
 
If you need to move a snail that is firmly attached, say, to glass, grasp the shell, gently slide the snail along the surface in any direction that is clear, until he releases or reduces his grip. It will let go at some point. Then pick him up. Best not to drop into new tank, instead, place on substrate or rock. Avoids chance of shell damage, even though they will drop fast on their own, I prefer not to drop them.
