protein skimmer/power head advice

I have a 48g fish only tank with LR and LS and want to start a reef tank what is a good hang-on protein skimmer for this size tank? I was looking at the red sea prism. Also i need to add some power heads for water flow but I don't know what flow rate should i have. Would 2 maxi jets 1200 be too powerful?

The prizim would be fine for that size.

Two maxijet 1200's would be fine aswell. In fact that would/should put you close to the 1 (10 times) flow rate per hour that we suggest.
