My skimmer is producing a ton of micro bubbles into my tank. It is new and I was wondering if this is normal? It's a seaclone skimmer. Yes I have heard of the negative reviews and I should have spent more money on a good one

It is probably normal operation for that particular skimmer. This is one of the reasons for using a bubble trap prior to the return section of your sump.

It's a HOB skimmer

Yes I know. But skimmers tend to put out bubbles especially cheaper ones . Part of the reason for a sump is to eliminate that.

Gotcha I wanted to build a full sump build but I may end up doing a HOB refugium
