Are the shrimp intentionally there for food or is this a recent discovery for the Puff?

Food. I get them treats once in a while. I float the bag for an hour and usually drop them for the salinity change. This time the puffs helped themselves. Bag had a bunch of holes so the shrimp got stunned and it wasnt a fair fight at all
