I have been experimenting using a BRS GFO reactor on my 12 gallon minimally planted tank for about 2 months now (bigtime overkill I know, lol). I plan on moving this reactor over to my saltwater tank once I get it set up, but for now I'm just playing around with it.
I have read mixed opinions online about using GFO with planted tanks, but I'm having great success so far. Zero algae growth and plants are doing surprisingly well... even got some new sprouts on some of them. Phosphates are near zero, but nitrates are at normal levels ~20-40ppm.
I'm curious what adding purigen would do to the tank at this point. Anyone else with experience/thoughts on this? thanks!
