Quarantine tank

I have a small 3 gallon QT. Unfortunately I've just lost a sick fish as a result of dropsy. What do I need to do with the tank now with regards to cleaning it?

Do a 50% water change. That should do the trick. You might want to give the ornaments and gravel a rinse too.

I don't think dropsy is contagious is it?

Only if you lose several fish quickly. Otherwise I just dip the dead fish out ASAP and proceed normally.

Dropsy is not contagious. However, IMO, a 3G is not a suitable QT. 10 at a minimum.
