Ok, so I've always wondered why Danios are in the Coldwater section of my three LFS's..

I've never kept them so I couldn't give any opinions.

I was just wondering..

They like water I the mid 70s Mine have done fine at 82, but I keep them at 78 which is still on the warm side for them, but on the cooler side for a few of my other fish.

Hello CC...

Possibly because most species of this fish are very hardy and tolerate a wide range of tank conditions. As long as the conditions remain constant the fish can live in cooler water. I have a tank of Rosey Danios that live in brackish water with no trouble.
