Red mark on mollies gill

I recently got a new mollie, a white one, i already have a ****ation mollie who is thriving and doing great. Hi TheFishlover, no photos attached. What are your water parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH. How often do you do water changes and how long has your tank been running, is it cycled?

Mollies are the most sensitive of the Livebearers and must have pure water conditions all the time. If you're not changing at least half the water in this tank every week, you should consider it. Also, Mollies are brackish water fish, their bodies are designed to benefit from a little standard aquarium salt in the tank water. A couple of teaspoons in every 5 gallons of new water will keep them healthy.
