LFS guy said NOT to have live rock in it. He said to have a nice bed of live sand maybe some carbon or Chem pro elite and algae is this true? I have some live rock rubble so I need to get it out of there? Can I just put the sand on top of the live rock then add the algae?

Any rock is good surface area for good bacteria in the main or fuge. I put my uglier rock or rubble down there. Don't wanna have it too dense down there either. I like to have room for the macro algaes and decent flow down there too.

So is he right then in adding live sand? And if so where would I add it? I was thinking this for my setup.

bottom to top.

Live rock
Chaeto
Chemi pure elite
Stock filter laying on top where drip tray would have been.

Have the light on now. It's gonna run at night. Tank is still cycling. But I wanted to get that chamber going also. :)

I like the no sand idea better. I'm really sure I understand the purpose. I like the idea of LR and chaeto with my pre filter on top. Thanks everyone.
