reusing sand

I recently bought a used tank that had been in storage for awhile not sure on how long. The sand had been stored in tubs is it alright to reuse this sand to set the aquarium back up?

I would be more worried about the seams on that tank then the sand. seams loose it's bonding power when in storeage for a while. Test it outside so you don't get wet floors. What size tank? What did the other person have in it, etc...

Was sand stored dry? Give it a good rinsing and you should be able to reuse it.

Its 150 gallon acrylic I'm pretty sure the sand was stored dry

If it's aragonite I definitely would be reusing it. Anything that was alive in it is dead now so a really good rinsing before using it again. Just my $.02.
