reverse osmosis filter needed?

I am getting closer to the point of cycling my tank so is a reverse osmosis filter needed? I live out of city limits so I have my own well. The water has no chlorine etc.
 
test your tap water for NO3 and PO4. RO/DI is best but your well water may be okay.
