Sand help

So I have like 50lbs of supposed pool filer sand, it's just it looks like beach sand, it has a bunch of smaller rocks and stuff like beach sand, I rinsed it 5x and but it in a bucket with boiling water
Think it's safe to use?

As long as there is nothing floating, no cloudiness etc. then it should be ok

Yeah, when I cleaned my sand I after churning it I would allow it about 2 min. to settle and if it didn't I knew I had to clean it more.

Don't want to make a new thread but on my 55g hood one of the glass panels under the light is missing and the center bar is broken in the middle so the hood sags a little, should I get a new hood?
