Sand or gravel?

i do & i did lol

i used the plastic lid from my API test kit & cut it into an L shape .. then i stuck it underneath the filter's spout.. now it absorbs the blow from the water completely so myself & my fish are happy

here's a pic of my new bamboo, amazon & cypherus(?) plants, along w/ how the sand came out

Hmm I'm interested in the half and half do you mix black and white or just do some white here and black there??

i planned on mixing but now w/ the plants i'm gonna leave the white
