My new one, as yet unnamed :) I'm thinking of naming him after hades' dog Cerberus singe the etymology breaks down to 'spotted' which is hilarious.

Here are my two new boys! I have no idea what to name them so anything will help!

The second male is so unbelievably purple. Those pictures don't do him any justice. Same with the first male. They're absolutely gorgeous!

Might be a dumb question..but does anyone know why most elephant ear bettas have that same purple/butterfly coloring? I've seen one green and a white but the vast majority are purple. Why is that?

Both are absolute beauties! It's funny, no matter how great a picture of a betta is, it rarely does the actual fish justice. The colors never come out quite right.

My guess is breeders. They just kept breeding the same colors maybe because the looked the prettiest. Or there might be no logical reason at all.

Most of the ones I see around here are the Turquoise / green / white colorations. I love them they are so adorable! Yes with mostly butterfly pattern.

I finally got miltons new tank that I can go live planted! I hope they live with this light!

The tanks an xanti 26, never heard of it but it seems okay so far, Milton seems to struggle though even with the pump for the filter turned on the lowest setting. Maybe ill get a new smaller pump for him in the future :)

I want to eventually add cherry shrimp to the tank :)

He's probably just out of shape and needs to buff up! He will get some exercise now and beef up! Go Milton, Go!

He keeps managing to get stuck on the intake of the filter, it doesn't look like its sucking him in terribly but his fins get pulled against it, I've seen him manage to get off of the intake so I guess it's okay..
