I was just thinking that. I like the hump back yours has it makes him look big and mean. I hope mine grows that when he's matured.

Give live food and good water quality, and the fish will look awesome.

What live food do you use? I might know a lfs that might have it I know Petsmart won't. I only use holy water ;)

I brew brine shrimp and buy bloodworms for my champions. Females and pets received frozen brine or any worms available from Petco.

Ok so it's been quite a while since I've been on the forum, after my last betta died I decided to wait to get another until after we moved. Trying to remember how to navigate the forum still but I finally got a new betta! Rescued this beauty earlier today! Dragon scale crown tail. Still working on a name...suggestions appreciated! ? He's a pretty boy! Almost reminds me of my butterfly crowntail. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1416173723.314523.jpg

He really hates the camera. Managed to catch him before he swam off to pout.

Wow he does!
What is the different between a crown tail and a butterfly crown tail? I just recently heard the butterfly term.
Also saw one with "rose" in the name but of course I forget what it was exactly.

Butterfly is a color morph. Solid body, with fins of two separate colors.

Are you thinking rose tail? I don't know much about them, other than they were developed off of the halfmoon. If I remember correctly, the overlapping of their fins is what causes the "flower" appearance. I see them from time to time at big box
stores...still kicking myself for not picking up the copper rosetail that I saw last spring!

Yes! That's it!
I saw one that was white(ish) with black
And one that was a real pretty blue.
I contemplated getting one of them!
Never heard of them before!

I think they're beautiful as well! Aquabid often has some nice looking ones that have tempted me in the past...I have a hard time paying that much for a fish though.

Thought I would revive it, Alrighty the first two are of my female that died like 10 months ago.

Her dropsy was insane as you can see, but with some help from me and a lot of fighting on her part, she lived. However, I left then lid off one day, forgetting to put it on after a water change. I discovered her after school in a pile of papers by the desk. Very sad.

The last two are of the male I bought at petco like 6 months ago, he is very fond of algae tabs and always finds a way to shred his own fins.
