Hey!
So i have these 2 boesemani rainbow fish that i recently purchased about 3 weeks ago, soon after bringing them home i noticed they had white cotton like stuff around their mouth, which i attempted to treat with pimafix but it appeared to have no effect. In the last 2-3 days i noticed that the smaller of the two has developed what appears to be ick.
No other fish in the tank has ick or cotton mouth like stuff. Although i did pick up that one of my albino bristlenoses appears to have red worms coming out of its anus(Callamanus Worms?). To make matters worse my 2 kribensis just put out a batch of fry, so i'm a little concerned about dosing the tank with medications. Although i'm not intentionally trying to breed them, i don't want to go killing them either.
Any help on treatments or ideas would be helpful. I feel like i'm caught in a bit of a pickle as i don't have access to a quarantine tank, but if absolutely necessary i'm willing to go out and buy one.
Tank - 240L(64 gal) w/ Fluval 406 + Juwel Bioflow (default one that comes with the Juwel RIO 240). The tank is around 6 months old, 0 ammonia/nitrite, temp at 25*C(77F), pH is 7.4, 0 copper, 0.5 ppm phosphate, nitrate around 20ppm + added pressurised CO2. I do a 30-50% water change weekly.
Current inhabitants include 3x mystery snails, 2x M+F Kribensis w/ 30 fry, 10 harlequin rasboras, 2x boesemani Rainbows, 3x bristlenose(1 albino, rest regular). The tank is planted with live plants.
