Hi
I have 5 silver dollars in a 260ltr. Two have developed what looks like fungus spots. The first one that had it, the spot actually peeled off him leaving a gash, it healed really quickly but it's now darker than usual. The white stuff seems to growing from under the scales.
Tank has been established for 6 months, and it was just a swap over of tank, so same water and same media was used.
I did have a nitrite spike about 2 weeks ago,
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 40.
I have been doing 1/3 water changes for the last 4 weeks but before that for a few months I did hardly any as I had a back injury.
I have been treating with melafix and Pimafix for a week now but there has been no difference.
Any suggestions ??
What about adding salt? Or salt baths, my worry is that they are so skitty that if I take them out it will stress them too much.
Thanks

Thanks for that. I have researched both and I still can't work out what it is.. I can't see anything with pics similar. I think I will try an antibiotic
