Sinking driftwood

Leave them in a bucket of water full all covered as long as stop floating.
 
Ok thanks, ive got it underneath a rock in the tank for now will that work?
 
boiling speeds it up, but some never do sink. If you have that problem usually you can silicone it to a piece of slate (or drill it if you have the tools) the slate hides nicely under substrate.
 
Mine is drilled to a large piece of slate and it still floats. Any suggestions?

I'd use rocks to hold it down, I let mine float at the top of my tank for about a week and it sunk on its own.
 
Depending on the wood and how you're using it--if you split it into sections, you'll get more surface area & water penetration quicker. You can reassemble using stainless screws. You can countersink the holes to hide the screwheads.
