Well, I just got a digital camera and celebrated by getting a few shots of the boys. These pictures aren't the best--I'm still not used the camera and I took the pictures before I cleaned the algae off the tank, which in retrospect was a little silly. Still, I felt the need to share. Enjoy!
Buddy the plecostomus. He was actually originally my mothers (she bought him for her classroom 15 gallon when he was about 1" without letting me know ahead of time so I could warn her) but has since been upgraded to my 58 gallon. Named by a class of fifth graders.
And his mugshot.
This gives you and idea of how long he is. I haven't tried to measure him in a while, but he was over 7" tip-to-tail last time.
You can see his patterning here pretty well. I'm assuming he's your run-of-the-mill common pleco. Can anyone confirm?
And here he is in his usual habitat. It's only once in a blue moon (or a cleaning) that he feels the need to grace us with his prescence.
Here's my real baby, Neil.
I took these shots during his nighttime feed. He wasn't very happy about the flash. He's gotten very long since I first got him two years ago when he was a paltry 2".
Well, those are my boys. The ones in the 58 gallon, anyways. I forgot to get pictures of the bettas, perhaps I'll do that here in a bit.
