It is for a twenty gallons betta/ axie tank (divided of course.)

Get your air source sorted out and decide where to place it. Then just assemble, squeeze in an established tank and let i soak up the water. Move to new tank and connect air.
If this is going to be your primary filter in a new set up, let it run a couple of weeks in an established tank. I use the big 120Gal in my 20L and they do a great job.
