A Honey Gourami might be nice. They aren't prone to the Dwarf Gourami disease AFAIK.
I like Glowlight Tetras. Hardier than Neons usually and look great against dark background and black sand or gravel.
Threadfin rainbowfish are awesome. They need small food but the males put on an amazing display. I had 2m and 2f.
