Man this topic is getting mighty touchy. There are other fish that are considered hardy. If you check out www.liveaquaria.com it will tell you what are considered beginner fish and are the most forgiving.

I think you already understand that fish cycling is not condoned here. But, I for one, cannot throw any stones in this area of discussion.
