I am starting my first nano reef with a Fluval Spec 5. any reccomebdations of begginer soft and hard corals

Well first thing first, you do realize you need to upgrade the lights? That's the first thing we need to know before recommending corals.

LFS yesterday had a really nice Spec set up, reef. I don't know what it was but they had the cutest tiny anemone looking thing the size of a dime and an additional one a little smaller a tangerine orange color.

Here is the pic of the Spec at the reef store...I don't believe you are supposed to have a Clown, in a 5G, I think it is a baby. The orange anemone is under the clown.

Those are dendrophyllia, a non photosynthetic coral. I've been looking for them forever. Very cool

Just be aware they're a harder to keep coral as they need daily feeding and low light.
