Okay, so I upgraded from my 29 gallon tank to a 55 gallon that was sitting around in my basement. Well, actually, it kinda turned into a 50 gallon after I made the top left corner a smaller tank for my beta. Anyways, I was wondering what would be the best centerpiece fish for my community.

Here's the stock

5 black skirt tetras
7 neon tetras
4 guppies (1M, 3F)
1 bristlenose pleco
6 peppered Cories
6 harlequin rasbora

That is all finalized but I just want a larger fish that will stick out. The tank is planted and natural. It is currently running on my 29 gallon filter until I can get out and grab a larger one. It is also heated to around 78-80 degrees F.

Any suggestions would be great!

You know, here's what I would do

For centerpiece:
Either a dwarf gourami or an angelfish
And for the bottom, I would add either a German blue ram or a Bolivian ram

Well, since you have quite some fish, I would just keep it 1 or 2 max
And add something for the bottom too!

Okay, so 1 or 2 angels and a GBR for the bottom. Is it best to keep just 1 ram or can they be paired up safely in a community tank?

In a 29 I would definitely say just 1 angel, two can become problematic in a tank that size. The GBR can be kept in pairs happily.
